Lemon Drop
C. baccatum8Here’s another great classic – and an essential part of Peruvian cuisine! Baccatum peppers traditionally only grow in South America, but they are actually the easiest and most successful plants for home growers and beginners in chili hobby.

Lemon Drop represents hot, non-sweet, slightly lemon-flavored types of baccatum peppers (as opposed to sweet, low-heat or only moderately hot Ajis). The plant is relatively compact and produces lots of bright yellow fruit even in non-ideal home conditions.
Grows well in pots. Lemon Drop is especially great for fish dishes! Also a very good, different tasting alternative to Cayenne and other Asian-type red hot peppers.

Aji Cristal
C. baccatum7Absolutely great variety from Curico, Chile. The taste is so good. It tastes completely different depending on the growing stage. The besting tasting pods can be enjoyed by picking them from the plant before they turn their color into red. Great as fresh practically with any food. The ordinary and smoked powder made from this variety is also insanely tasty! This variety was available all around the Finland as fresh in vegetable shelves and was made quite known in Finland by Fatalii Gourmet. The plant is easy to grow and it's extremely prolific. Ideal when picked by using staggered harvesting. Just keep picking off the largest pods and you can enjoy yield for all season long.

My dear chilihead friend Chris Fowler grew many different phenotypes during a few years and this one is one of those.
These elongated, peach-yellow colored pods are extremely tasty and medium hot.
Definitely one of the best tasting C. baccatum chili peppers there is!
If you care more about the tasty aroma than extreme heat, then this one is definitely for you as it still packs a nice heat too.

Aji Habanero
C. baccatum8The name Aji Habanero is a misleading as it isn't related to habaneros. After growing it it once, it became one of my definitive favorites. Prolific, hot, tasty and easy to grow. Worked especially well as powder and chipotle.
